Here are the 10 wines having the best quality/price ratio, that is the wines to buy in order to drink very well at very convenient prices.
In the pages of The Essential Guide to Italian Wine will be presented not only the top wines of every winery, but also the wines to be drunk every day, that easy drinking for which we emphasize the excellent quality/price ratio symbolized by the raised thumb, the like. In practice, wines that cost a reasonable amount of money as we are talking about products that have passed our difficult selection.
Wines which cost in wine shops less than 10 euros or less than 15 euros for the ones which got a score higher than 90/100. They are almost one fourth of the wines reviewed in total and they can be a reading in themselves, a sort of guide in the guide.
Today we present the final ranking of the 10 wines with the best quality/price ratio, that is the wines to buy in order to drink very well at very convenient prices. We selected the ones having a score equal or higher than 90/100 and a cost lower than 8 euros.
Our champion is Frascati Superiore Vigneto Santa Teresa 2020 Fontana Candida, a white wine from Lazio with a long tradition which is at the top of this special classification because of its extreme typicality and pleasantness and a really affordable price: € 6.50.
This year's ranking has many regions involved, with Tuscany and Apulia managing to place two wines (something that will surely surprise all the ones who think Tuscany is the land of expensive wines. As always, it depends on the type, which means that wines aged for a long time will never be cheap).
