capezzana villa agriturismo vinsanteria

Fattoria di Capezzana is the name of the farmhouse, completely restored, which offers comfort with a beautiful view on the Medicean villa and vineyards.

In Capezzana, time seems to have never passed: a magical place, where the organic production of oil and wine has been inextricably linked to the territory for more than 1200 years, as stated on a parchment dated 804 preserved in the State Archives of Florence.

The geographical location between Montalbano and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines determines the particularity of the microclimate: hot summer days followed by cool nights, well-distributed rainfall throughout the year and constant ventilation.

The first to fall in love with this place were Vittoria and Alessandro Contini Bonacossi, who created one of the most important art collections of the 20th century: part of this can now be visited at the Uffizi museum in Florence.

Fattoria di Capezzana is the name of the beautiful residence that Tenuta di Capezzana offers for an unforgettable stay. The Capezzana Farm is a comfortable, completely renovated farm within the estate, with a beautiful view of the Villa Medici and the surrounding vineyards.

It has a large, covered terrace, with rattan table and armchairs, and a beautiful view of the garden. It consists of 8 double rooms and 1 single room, all with private bathroom. The rooms are tastefully furnished in the typical Tuscan style and are located on the first floor of the house.

The new generation of the Contini Bonacossi created "La Vinsantaia", a restaurant and wine bar inside at the heart of Capezzana estate. They have created a space dedicated to welcoming guests wishing to taste their wines alongside carefully selected local dishes in the setting of our beautiful countryside. It is named after the famous Capezzana Vin Santo, which is aged in casks for five years in the rooms above the restaurant.

The Vinsantaia is at the center of the ancient village of Capezzana, in front of the olive mill. From here, immersed in the Tuscan landscape of vineyards and olive groves, you can enjoy a unique view of the hills of Carmignano and the plains of Florence, Prato and Pistoia. The space was open to welcome those who want to immerse themselves in the estate’s reality: you can visit the cellars and taste the wines paired with selected meats and cheeses and if you're lucky, you may also be able to enjoy produce from the organic garden. Cookies and “schiacciata” (a typical Tuscan focaccia) are made on the premises.

The idea for Vinsantaia came from the family passion for their land and the desire to revive the area's resources, making its excellence available to all: wine, oil, landscapes and the traditional culinary culture.
