Wines for Summer by DoctorWine

Well-balanced wines that are pleasant to drink, fresh and not too full-bodied. This is the identikit of the 485 wines selected by Daniele Cernilli and his team for the new summer guide.

Summer is approaching and with it a return to pre-pandemic normality, with a resumption of conviviality, also favored by the fact that summer gatherings are almost always outdoors.

Conviviality that includes bottles of wine to be shared with friends and relatives, but also in the family, within the walls of home or even better in terraces or gardens. Therefore, we thought of proposing a selection of 485 wines that bring the taste of summertime to that freshness and drinkability we mostly associate to the warm season. Whites, rose, reds: all wines which are never banal or lacking of personality or territoriality.

A selection of 485 producers with the wines that best suit the light and fresh summer cuisine, with some exceptions that also include more important wines, because it is true that in summer we drink "light", but it is nice to enjoy a few bottles, especially if extraordinary as those indicated, beyond the summer typology.

Wineries are divided by region, in alphabetical order in order to make the search for a wine easier and the information provided in every file allow a conscious choice, according to one's taste and needs. The result is a precious little book, made of tastings, advices and little stories which tell about the wonderful world of Italian wine.

For the presentation of this little guide, there will be two great tastings:

• Rome Saturday May 21th, h. 13:30-17:30, at Caffetteria Massimo, via Giovanni Amendola 6.
• Milan Saturday May 28th, h. 14.30-19.30, Hotel Principe di Savoia, piazza della Repubblica 17.
