The presentation of The Essential Guide to Italian Wine 2023
On September 24 and 25 in Milan and October 9th in Rome, the Essential Guide to Italian Wine 2023 will be presented to the press, operators and wine enthusiasts, with grand open tastings and also, in Milan, 9 thematic seminars, including one in English.
On Saturday, Sept. 24 and Sunday, Sept. 25, the 9th edition of the Essential Guide to Italian Wines by DoctorWine will be presented in Milan at the well-established venue of the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Piazza della Repubblica. From 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the event will be open to the public for an open tasting with more than 220 wineries present between the two days and, at the same time, the first of the proposed seminars will begin. The seminars will be led by Daniele Cernilli and leading contributors to the guide and will last an hour or so, each providing for the tasting of a dozen wines. Preceding the seminars, an awards ceremony will be held in the morning reserved for producers who have obtained the coveted "seal," that is, a score of 95/100 or higher for a reviewed wine, and members of the wine world, by invitation only. For all others, it will be possible to follow the live streaming of the ceremony via DoctorWine social channels.
On Saturday, October 9, it will be repeated in Rome, at the Spazio Novecento at Eur, a conference center with very large and perfectly equipped spaces, where a tasting with banquets will take place. There will be 112 producers present and their wines will be available to the public from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. At 1:30 p.m., however, the press conference will take place and the first hours of the tasting will be reserved for press and trade.
At both venues, along with the ninth edition of the Essential Guide to Italian Wine (click on the link for the fact sheet) will also be presented the third edition of Eating and Sleeping in the Vineyards by DoctorWine, a guide intended for wine tourists that presents 210 wineries that have hospitality facilities on their properties: agritourisms, wine resorts, country hotels as well as restaurants-from traditional to fine dining-where wine tourists can delight in typical products, characteristic dishes and excellent wines. Practical pointers are provided to facilitate the choice and offer the basic information needed to orient oneself among the various facilities.
