Etna’s 34 unmissables

There are 34 not-to-be-missed wines from Etna according to Cronache di Gusto's Guide to the Wines of Etna 2024 dedicated to the wines and winemakers of the Volcano. They were awarded as part of Taormina Gourmet.

Etna's must-try wines are growing, as many as 34 labels representing the best of the production of one of Italy's most beloved wine territories. There are five more than in the 2023 edition, divided as follows: eleven whites, twenty-two reds and, for the first time, a rosé. A sign that the excellence of Etna wines is beginning to be articulated in more types. Also recording a jump in whites: last year there were eight. For the eighth edition of the Etna Wine Guide, more than 480 wines from 134 wineries (with about 20 new entries) were reviewed. For three wineries, this is the first time their own label has joined the Olympus of tastings, bringing home an Unmissable wine. And among the Unmissable wines many new labels albeit from wineries already present over the years with wines deemed top by the editors. The volume in Italian and English, now in its eighth edition, is edited by Federico Latteri together with Fabrizio Carrera.

Without a doubt, the Etna Wine Guide confirms itself as the most comprehensive publication dedicated to the wines of the Volcano, constantly updated and able to photograph the state of the art of the area, also enhancing the characteristics and diversity of the four slopes into which the guide divides the Etna DOC territory, macro-areas that greatly facilitate the understanding of Etna to drink. And there is no shortage of information on restaurants, stores and hotels so as to give a complete overview for those who want to have a full experience with Etna's wines.
