Situated in Montebello Vicentino, this winery was set up in the 1970s by a fan of Durella that at the time was considered a grape to be used for blending with other wines. His desire to make a wine from this beloved native grape first resulted in a Durello still wine in 1978 and was followed in 1989 with a Traditional Method sparkling wine.
This vintage 2011 Riserva sat 60 months on the lees (disgorged in 2016) and has aromas of lily of the valley and daisies, green nuances of thyme and those of lemon. The mouthfeel is precise and taut, becoming willowy with a convincing dynamic development that has a return of iodine note and those of grapefruit peel in the finish. There was no dosage and yet there is a good balance with nice finesse and a lovely persistence.
