The dark, antique colors here are between old gold and topaz while the aroma is still intact despite the wine’s age with the classic apricot scent now very concentrated, the spices are warm and there are some notes of candied bergamot and touches of dried prune and chocolate-covered orange peel. The mouthfeel is sumptuous with a great impact and a bold sweetness which is barely upheld by the light tannin from drying and the acidity. The level of alcohol is not too high but there is a lot of sweetness. The finish is mega-persistent. Here the spell of a wine comes into play, it may be arguable but it remains very beautiful.
