    A great year for Sassicaia and Bolgheri in general. This was one of the best vintages of the ‘90s. The color is an intense ruby-garnet and the aromas have incredible integrity and are unusually complex. There are balsamic notes along with those of wild berries and sweet spice, with light scents of tar and underbrush. The impact of the mouthfeel is excellent and overall it is balanced, nicely taut thanks to the acidity, still elegant and whole. The finish is decidedly persistence.
