The Baroni Capoano estate in Cirò Marina
An old estate that in recent years has embarked in the wine market with greater determination.
The old Capoano family has always cultivated grapes and made wine for personal use. It was only in 1997 that surgeon Raffaele Capoano began to bottle the wine made at his estate on the hills above Cirò Marina.
The estate is run today by Massimiliano Capoano, Raffaele’s son, who took over from his father in 2005. The estate has some 20 hectares of land and aside from grapes they also cultivate olives to produce oil.
Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore Riserva Don Raffaele 2016

Made from Gaglioppo grapes and matured for three years in stainless steel. The wine has a garnet color and an intense and complex bouquet of dried prune, wilted violet and smoked scents, followed by notes of blackcurrant and cherry. The mouthfeel is soft, rich and rounded with a nice acidity and sweet tannins and a long finish of wild cherry.

Cirò Bianco Antea 2018

A blend of 80% Greco Bianco and 20% Mantonico made in stainless steel. A straw-yellow color and fruity aroma of yellow plum and medlar, followed by notes of yellow flowers. The mouthfeel is dry and juicy with a nice acidity making it easy to drink. The persistence is good and the finish flavorful.

Cirò Rosato Don Angelo 2018

A blend of 90% Gaglioppo and 10% Syrah made in stainless steel. A bouquet of wild strawberry and cranberry with a floral hint. The mouthfeel is saline and fresh, agile and fruity with a finish that has a nice persistence and recalls wild cherry.

Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore Neruda 2017

A blend of 90% Gaglioppo and 10% Merlot made in stainless steel. A ruby color and an intense and fruity aroma of prune, black cherry and dark flowers. The mouthfeel is warm, full and rounded with distinct and slightly drying tannins.
