The Magnificent Seven Barolo

We talk about Barolo and in particular of those who got the highest scores in The Ultimate Guide 2018.

Here we will not be talking about Yul Brynner or Steve McQueen or even the bandit Calveras, played by Eli Wallach, but of Barolo. More specifically, the magnificent seven Barolo that were considered to be the best in our Ultimate Guide to Italian Wine 2018.

Seven very great wines headed by one of the greatest versions of Monfortino ever, the iconic wine of Robeto Conterno which was the first to be given a top 100/100 rating, in other words perfection in a bottle. The other six are extraordinary: Borgogno, Elio Grasso, Bartolo Mascarello, Vietti, Gaja, Bruno Giacosa and Pio Cesare. All names that for their own reasons have made Barolo history.
