Birrificio Rurale by name and nature

In 2013, Birrificio Rurale opened its new headquarters on Via del Commercio in Desio which was more modern, functional and, above all, capable of meeting current production demand. However, the brewery’s history goes further back than that. In 2009, five friends who shared a passion for beer decided to create a brewery that incorporated the area’s strong beer-making vocation. They then came up with its name and began brewing in an old silo with production organized in a vertical manner, from top to bottom.
From the start they decided to produce high fermentation brews with secondary fermentation in the bottle (or casks) without any filtering or pasteurization. Needless to say, no additives were allowed with everything geared for quality and originality in order to compete in the growing world of craft brewing. Added to this was the skill and creativity of the brewers, capable of producing an impeccable line of beers, all of which stand out not only for their drinkability but also their character, persistence and complexity.
Seta, for example, is one of the best White or Blanche beers we’ve tasted and equally good is their balanced and harmonious American Pale Ale 3° Miglio. Then there is the stout Blackout and 02 CastigaMatt, a black IPA. Another brew is the unusual 01Oasis, made using chestnut honey and which is an example of the ‘Italian touch’ Rurale has developed. These beers have an international-style but with an Italian touch achieved above all through using Italian ingredients. Seta Special is the best example of this line and we tasted it again for you today.
