American Red Ale was one of the first brews produced and together with the Golden Ale and Porter, represents their classic line. It is a high fermentation red that for us fully exemplifies Birra Perugia’s style and vision. Its white and creamy head slowly unleashes notes of wild flowers and fresh grass as well as scents of caramel along with hints of malt and those of ripe wild berries. The mouthfeel is fresh and dynamic with a bitter sensation that is never unpleasant or excessive and ushers in a long, aromatic and clean finish. The alcoholic content is perfect and offers the right amount of warmth and softness, while in the aftertaste there are the flavors of the aromas found in the nose. Serve this in a pint glass at no less than 8°C and pair it with red meats, semi-aged cheeses or, better yet, drink it by itself in order to appreciate all the aroma it little by little releases.
