A lot has been written over which is better, 1982 or 1985. As is often the case, this 1982 is more ‘real’ than the 1985 but less fine. Its bouquet has scents of cinchona, ginseng root and black truffle, while the grape’s herbal note here (the only case in the tasting) becomes a mineral one of hydrocarbons. Nevertheless, it remains very cool and dark. The mark of both the winery and the grape.
