Ronchi di Cialla: The Re (King) Fosco (2)
Yesterday we published a chat with the Rapuzzi family, which since the 1970s has had the Friuli estate Ronchi di Cialla in Prepotto, on the eastern edge of Colli Orientali. Dina Rapuzzi, who started the winery with her late husband Paolo, is now assisted by her sons Pierpaolo and Ivan.
We could have done a comparative tasting of their Schioppettino, the wine the estate is best known for and which they ‘rediscovered’ in their ‘mission’ to recover forgotten grapes, but we opted for one of their Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, another and very interesting native indigenous grape.
All the wines in the tasting are made from 100% Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grapes.
