A ruby-garnet color rich in reflections. The aroma has mineral notes of graphite and those of nutmeg and medicinal herbs, while the mouthfeel is, as always, very lose yet rich and deep. It perhaps lacks a touch of fruit and the tannins seem to be a bit stiff, as is often the case with 1997 wines. Nevertheless, it remains very pleasing to drink.
