A fine version, deriving from a well-balanced year that has given us a typical and long-lived example of Faro Palari. Its garnet colour is intense and lively, with some ruby highlights. The nose is complex, with smoky and fruity elements present. It opens up with scents of blackcurrants and blackberries, followed immediately by more spicy notes and hints of Virginia tobacco. The flavour is positive and racy, with the tannic and acid components slightly predominating over the alcohol and glycerine: a profile that suggests excellent ageing potential. It finishes long and austere.
