La Luna e i Falò 2008

A cool September delayed the ripening of the Barbera grapes that in the end had a nice amount of sugar and a distinct acidic level similar to 2005. Overall an excellent vintage, especially thanks to the lower-yield vines. Here the ruby color leans towards garnet and in the bouquet what stands out are scents of licorice, balsamic caramel and After Eight mints, alongside ripe fruit making it all nicely complex. The taste is very balanced, the epitome of a Barbera, in which its typical acidity wraps the assorted aromas and soft tannins.
