This was overall a good year. The harvest came late due to too much rain and cooler temperatures which did not allow the Barbera grapes to fully ripen, thus limiting the amount of sugar exalting the acidity. The only grapes to reach full maturity were those grown on low-yield and well-pruned vines.
This 2010 has an intense ruby color and the aroma is perfect with its balsamic scents and those of ripe red fruit, while the persistence is deep and generous. The tannins in the mouthfeel are excellent and go well with a very pleasing fruit sensation. In the finish the tannins become creamy and the aftertaste is velvety.
