Vitovska Riserva from Edi Kante, a real blast

In the hands of Edi Kante, wines from the harsh land of the Karst obtain a high profile, like this Vitovska Riserva 2010, which is excellent and very persistent.
This wonderful, enthralling, emotionally and intellectually rewarding winery is carved out of the rock in the Karst Plateau. It is the “home” of Edi Kante, a hard man of few words who deeply loves this land and has an approach to innovation that makes him seem like a little boy as well as a sage.
“Vitrovska reserve only comes out when it is ready” is a statement that sums up the philosophy behind his estate. The wine is made from vines that are over 19 years old and are situated at an altitude of some 250m above sea level. They are Guyot-trained and have a density of around 8,000 rootstocks per hectare with each vine producing around half a kilo of fruit. Truly maniacal attention is paid to making this wine that has an amazing personality.
